Advice For When You’re At Home

Apr 12, 2010 15 Comments by admin

Over the years, patients and their families have shared advice for others recovering from treatment of a disease of the pancreas at home. Here is that list:

Liquids are the very important. Gatorade, Propel, and Smartwater are brands that have been enjoyed by patients for clear liquids that give you electrolytes.

When you advance to full liquids and need more nutrition, Slimfast drinks and Carnation Instant Breakfast are low in fat and high in nutrition. Also, Ovaltine tastes great and adds a lot of nutrition.

Use Pam or any other spray oil instead of oil or butter when you are cooking. It keeps the fat content in the meal much lower.

When you want a treat try fat free NoPudge Brownies. They are available in the Northeast at Stop and Shop, Whole Foods and Trader Joes. They are great! If you can’t find them go to www.nopudge.com.
