Gordon D. Fisher received a B.A. degree in English from the University of North Carolina in 1967 and a J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1970. He has practiced law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania primarily in the areas of real estate development, estate planning and administration, and family law. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and its Real Property and Family Law Sections, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and its Family Law Section and Minority Bar Committee, the American Bar Association and its Family Law Section, and the American Matrimonial Inns of Court and serves on its Executive Council.
Gordon became active in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Pancreas Foundation in 2004 immediately following the death of his youngest sister from pancreatic cancer. He became a member of the board of directors of the National Pancreas Foundation in 2009 and has served on the Executive Committee and as board Secretary since 2009.
In addition to his service to the National Pancreas Foundation, Gordon currently is Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Affiliates Risk Management Services, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Peoples Oakland, and a member of the Boards of Directors of Beginnings Preschool, Family Resources, Persad Center, Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Leadership Council, Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania, Inc., and Planned Protection Insurance Company, and serves on the Vestry of Calvary Episcopal Church.
