Trial lawyer who maintains an active practice before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Litigator’s approach to negotiating and navigating complex issues. Extensive experience representing public and private companies in the prosecution and avoidance of civil litigation, including business disputes, the protection of intellectual property assets, and environmental and land use disputes. Litigation counsel to government officials, various state and local governments, the world’s largest international life safety code developer, as well as numerous multinational corporations in actions before various tribunals, including the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association. Has served as member of K&L Gates’ firm-wide management committee.
Adjunct Professor of Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. Teaches classes on international intellectual property law and policy, with emphasis on international trade issues. Legal Advisor to the Fletcher School’s Center for Emerging Business Enterprise’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Initiative, established to promote greater understanding and sound policy development of Sovereign Wealth Funds. Responsible for helping shape the legal and policy discussion about the future of Sovereign Wealth Funds as they have emerged as an increasingly important source of cross-boarder capital and will continue to grow in importance as financing sources for national deficits and emerging market countries. Member of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Board of Overseers. Serves on The Fletcher School’s Master of Laws (LL.M.) Advisory Council. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Dana-Farber Trustees Science Committee. Member of the Board of Directors of the New England Council.
