What inspired you to run for the NPF?
My father passed away from pancreatic cancer. We were lucky, in a way, because he lived for over a year after he was diagnosed, but there is so much in my family’s lives that he has missed, and will miss, because of this terrible disease.
Favorite race and why?
If you know me, you know I hate running, but obstacle course races are the exception! Climbing over things beats running any day of the week.
What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?
I once dressed up as a Gumby from “Monty Python’s Flying Circus.” No one knew what that was, but I acted it out and won a box of chocolate for my efforts.
What’s one thing about you that surprises people?
One of my favorite compliments that I’ve ever gotten is from a friend who, after years of knowing me, found out my actual height and said, “You’re shorter than I thought.”
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
I would be able to speak every language, with every accent.
What would you run 100 miles for?
I don’t know if I would ever RUN 100 miles for anything, but I do know that I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more, just to be the (wo)man who walks 1,000 miles to fall down at your door.
What’s your favorite thing to do for fun?
Sing! Whether it’s in a choir, karaoke league, or the car by myself, I will always be singing.
