Diane C. Tonelli, OTR/L, MHA, CDP, CADDCT

Mrs. Tonelli is an Occupational Therapist working as a dementia care specialist in a family-owned Senior Living company. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration both from Worcester State University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate from the McCormick School of Gerontology at UMass Boston- in Aging and Management Services, and a certificate in Policy of Alzheimer’s from UMass Boston. Mrs. Tonelli is a Certified Dementia Care Trainer by NCCDP, certified Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group Facilitator, and she has been on the Town of Shrewsbury MA Commission for Disabilities since 2019.

 
In 2000 her father, James Corey, lost a 5-month battle with Pancreatic cancer, within 1 1/2 years she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis- then chronic pancreatitis with genetic testing revealed a mutation in CFR r117.  Mrs. Tonelli was introduced to the NPF through its co-founder, Jane Holt when she got her business card from Peter Banks, MD at Brigham and Women’s in 2003. She’s been active in the Massachusetts Chapter since 2015 and is now the NPF MA Chapter Chair. She is also the secretary for the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance – UMass Medical Center/Medical School and is a member of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition.
