The University of Michigan and the National Pancreas Foundation Michigan Chapter will jointly host a third Patient and Family Centered Care for Pancreatic Diseases educational event.
The main goals are to increase understanding of the immediate and long-term impact of pancreatitis on health, ability to function and work and medical coverage; to discuss the approach to complex care and to highlight causes and the approaches to chronic pain. We will also discuss updates and resources available at the National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) National Office, the NPF Michigan Chapter and the University of Michigan NPF center of excellence.
The event is free and open to all physicians, patients and caregivers. All are welcome to attend even if you have not registered however please keep in mind if you are not registered you may not receive lunch.

Want to run for a cause? Or has running a 10K or a marathon been on your bucket-list and you’re ready to check it off? Want a 26.2 mile or 10K running tour of Washington, DC?
Run for the National Pancreas Foundation!
Selected as a charity partner for the 2019 Marine Corps Marathon (Sunday, October 27, 2019 in Washington, DC), we are looking for a group of people to run in the name of finding a cure, in memory/in honor of a loved one, or supporting an organization that provides hope and courage to those suffering from pancreatic disease. In return, the NPF will support you every step of the way with motivation, team support (via a private Facebook group), swag, team tent at the finish line, and a team pasta dinner the night before. In 2018, our 44 runners raised $36,686 all in the name of finding a cure for pancreas disease!

Amid COVID-19, the NPF has decided to transfer it’s Charity Partnership for 2020 to 2021 to ensure that everyone will be able to run together (in-person). Team Pancreas has gone virtual for 2020! What does that mean?! It means that anyone can run and raise for The NPF on October 25th! You can sign up for the virtual marathon ($45) or the 10K ($33). Once you register and sign up, please notify National Program Director, Sokphal Tun at email@example.com. We will add your picture to the 2020 Team Pancreas site. Registrants who raise at least $250 will get a Team Pancreas shirt and pre-race goodie bag along with their MCM swag. Wait! There’s more! A race event is not complete without a pasta dinner! This will be virtual where we can “meet” all our members and hand out awards. (More details to come)
