About
The National Pancreas Foundation was founded in 1997 by families who had lived through pancreatic disease themselves — determined to change the future for others. What began with co-founders Patricia Birsic and Jane Holt planting the seed in 1995 has grown into a nationwide movement: over $5 million in research funding, more than 130 funded projects, 25+ chapters across the country, and programs that reach patients, caregivers, and clinicians at every stage of their journey.
Learn More About NPFMost pancreas organizations focus on pancreatic cancer research and clinical trials alone. NPF is the only national nonprofit committed to the full spectrum of pancreatic diseases — with a mission centered on patient support, education, and care navigation, not just cancer research. This comprehensive scope means NPF serves patients who would otherwise fall through the gaps.
Learn More About NPFFrom our leadership and board to the physicians and educators who guide our work, every person involved with NPF plays a role in driving progress for patients and families facing pancreatic disease.
