21st Annual NPF Fellows Symposium

The National Pancreas Foundation holds the annual Fellows Symposium as an opportunity for fellows to gain insight, instruction, and mentorship from world-renowned pancreas specialists. This is open to physicians and PhD-levels scientists working in any hospital nationwide, who are fellows, residents, and first or second-year faculty who have demonstrated an interest in pancreatic disease.

2027 Fellows Symposium Application

Date: Thursday, April 8 – Saturday, April 10

Location: Hyatt Regency Cincinnati| Cincinnati, Ohio

Application opens fall 2026. This event is FREE for chosen Fellows and chosen attendees will receive a $150 travel stipend. Hotel and food will be covered by The National Pancreas Foundation.

Course Objectives

  1. Discuss early detection of pancreatic cancer and surgery options.
  2. Describe indications, treatments, and complications of pancreatitis.
  3. Interpret knowledge of genes and how they affect the pancreas.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by CME Outfitters, LLC and National Pancreas Foundation. CME Outfitters, LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The National Pancreas Foundation has been hugely influential in my career in supporting me since I was a medical student.  I had the opportunity to attend an NPF Fellows Symposium as a medical student during my research fellowship, and this opened a new world of research and clinical practice for me. I was able to attend several additional Fellows Symposium events over subsequent years, which further solidified my interest and my connection to the study of pancreatic disease.   Since that time, I have had the opportunity to be mentored by world-renowned researchers and clinicians, who have overseen and encouraged my progress as a medical pancreatologist and clinical trial specialist.  I have been successful in applying for foundation and National Institutes of Health funding to support my career, and I credit the NPF with supplying both support and mentorship at every stage of the way.  They also continue to offer opportunities for me to grow in my own mentorship of others who are interested in studying pancreatic disease, which is an invaluable and essential way to grow this research community.
