The Department of Defense (DoD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) is a highly competitive federal funding mechanism that supports innovative medical research aimed at improving the health and well-being of Service Members, Veterans, and their families. Pancreatitis has been included as a congressionally directed topic area within the PRMRP, creating opportunities for investigators to pursue research focused on acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pain management, disease progression, pancreatic insufficiency, and novel therapeutic approaches. The program supports a broad range of research—from basic science and translational studies to clinical research and quality-of-life initiatives—with an emphasis on high-impact, patient-centered outcomes and collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and advocacy organizations
